CUSTOM CLOTHING BRAND
Start or Grow Your Custom Clothing Brand with The Print Studio
Thinking of launching your own custom clothing brand or need a better supplier to take your brand to the next level?
The Print Studio offers both local Australian production and offshore manufacturing to suit your needs and budget.
Should I produce my clothing in Australia or overseas?
We help clothing brands every day—some just starting out, others scaling up. Some items are better made locally, while others are more suitable for offshore production. Our experienced team will guide you through the best option based on your designs, budget, and goals.
Why can’t everything be made in Australia?
While we all love Australian-made, here are some key reasons why it’s not always practical:
Labour Costs: Australia has some of the highest wages in the world, which makes producing a 100% locally made t-shirt—from fabric to sewing—extremely expensive. That’s why many custom clothing brands choose to relabel and decorate existing products like AS Colour using screen printing or embroidery. It’s a cost-effective way to achieve a high-quality, branded result without the full manufacturing costs.
Design Complexity: designs across seams or oversized screen prints and embroidery often need to be applied before the garment is assembled—something best done offshore.
Relabelling – In-House Printing & Embroidery with
The Print Studio in Australia
Using established blank apparel brands like AS Colour, Gildan, or JB’s Wear means you’re starting with garments that are already trusted for their fit, consistency, and durability.
These brands offer a wide range of colours, sizes, and styles ready for printing or embroidery, making them ideal for fashion startups and custom streetwear labels who want quality without the overhead of custom garment production. It also allows you to scale faster without needing to manufacture your own cuts from scratch.

- Optional relabelling available with custom printed or woven labels featuring your own brand. This lets you present your garments as fully branded under your label—no one will see the original supplier tags

Established brand with solid sales? You might benefit from combining both methods—use in-house to sell now and offshore to scale later.
-
High budget and long-term vision? A hybrid model gives you immediate stock to sell (in-house), while planning large-scale growth (overseas).
